Altrusa is an international non-profit organization making our local communities better through leadership, partnership, and service.
Our club offers an opportunity to make a real difference in Ohariu, an area of Wellington that covers Wadestown, Crofton Downs, Ngaio, Khandallah, Johnsonville, Newlands, Paparangi, Woodridge, Churton Park, Grenada North and Tawa. We undertake a variety of service, literacy, fundraising and international projects each year.
We are seeking new volunteers to join our organization and make a difference. Our members are from varying occupations and lifestyles, all sharing an interest in community service and enjoying the friendship, fun and satisfaction that comes from working together for the benefit of others.
Our Projects
Altrusa Ohariu undertake a variety of hands-on service and fundraising initiatives to support our local, national, and international community. Decisions about the organisations that we support are made collaboratively at our monthly meeting. We welcome new ideas and aim to provide flexibility so that members can give their time in a way that works for them.
